The rainwater flows through the drainage channel into a leaf-catcher and sand-catcher shaft. The water filtered from sand, leaves, and branches is drawn into the tank by gravity, from where the booster pump (domestic waterworks or hydrophore) sends the water to the irrigation system as needed, or to the toilet tank in the building, washing machine, forwards to the shower. Excess water can be leached into the soil.
